No. If someone dies overseas and / or their name does not appear in the list of deceased received from the Department of Immigration & Civil Status they will not be removed from the voters’ register.
A list of deceased in Seychelles is received from the Department of Immigration and Civil Status monthly and all other applications of deceased are compiled and all deceased removed from the register upon yearly certification of the register on 31st March the following year immediately after death or certification of register before elections.

There are several ways to check your name on the register. You can SMS your NIN to 9600 (no spaces) or visit www.ecs.sc or visit the registration centre nearest to your electoral area

To register as a voter you need to bring the following: Valid photo Seychelles ID card Valid passport in the case of returning residents to confirm the last date of entry into the country A copy of naturalization certificate and a valid passport to confirm the last date of entry into the country
After registration, an ECS officer will visit you at the residential address provided by you when you registered. The visit is to verify and confirm that you live at this residence. It is your duty to ensure that you are present at the time of visit.
No. Your application will only be approved once all the details have been confirmed by an ECS officer.
Upon submission of your application at the ECS, you will be issued with a copy of your application. This will stand as proof that you have applied to be register as a voter.
Once your application has gone through the whole registration process (including verification & publication) you will be informed of the outcome through an official correspondence from the ECS.
Corrections
You can change your name(s), surname, NIN or date of birth
You need the following documents to make any corrections to the voters register: A valid photo Seychelles ID card A copy of certificate in case of marriage / divorce A copy of birth certificate for any changes and corrections to be made other than marriage / divorce
The corrections made will appear on the voters’ register upon certification before any upcoming elections or on the register certified annually on 31st March of the following year.
Transfer
You need to have resided in your new electoral area (district) for at least 3 months before you can transfer to that electoral area.
Your valid photo Seychelles ID card
Your name will appear on your new electoral area’s voters’ register upon certification of the register right before an election or at the annual certification of the voters’ register on 31st March of the following year.
Objections are treated on a case by case basis and it is upon investigation and at the discretion of the ECS to approve the objection.

The different types of objections are: Appearing on the voters’ register of an electoral area in which you are not living Appearing on the voters’ register when you are not qualified as a voter Any deceased whose particulars still appear on the voters’ register Against your own name
To place an objection you need a valid photo ID card and / or death certificate in the event of an objection to remove the name of the voter who has died overseas.
Yes. It is our duty to ensure that you are aware of any objection so that you may provide necessary additional information required to close the objection.
Both the complainant and the respondent are informed of the outcome of the objection investigation.
The person placing the objection must be registered in the same electoral area as the person against whom the objection is being lodged.
Once approved, the objections will appear on the voters’ register upon certification right before an election or upon the annual certification on March 31st the following year.
